Nice catch! As my feeble defense, I claim that there should have been a
generated, do not edit comment in the files that are generated with
funclib.sh. :-)

Joking aside, you're quite right, I'll shuffle the order of bootstrap.in
to leave that warning at the top, and remove the write bit from the
generated file.
