I can confirm the bug exists on Slackware 8 with qt 2.3.1 kde 2.2.2 .
There was no error when I compiled against kde 2.2.1 but when I updated
kde and compiled again bug is there

so if he solved his prob, mine would probably be too :)

Look into
/licq-dir/plugins/qt-gui/src/Makefile.am

and change this line:
licq_kde_gui_la_LIBADD = $(KDE_LIBS) $(X_PRE_LIBS) -lX11 -lXext \
$(XSS_LIBS) $(X_EXTRA_LIBS)

That it reads this:
licq_kde_gui_la_LIBADD = $(KDE_LIBS) -lqt $(X_PRE_LIBS) -lX11 -lXext \
$(XSS_LIBS) $(X_EXTRA_LIBS)

and recompile (You need automake for this to be installed).
This worked for me very good.

That would strike me as a bug. They probably implimented as a work around
of sorts, but it's a bad one.

Look in the network log, you'll see that it says they keep coming online.
This usually means the person is using GAIM, as all my contacts who use GAIM
for ICQ send an online packet every 60 seconds.

[Licq-main] an issue with online notify

2002-05-02 Thread Gregorio Guidi

Hi all,
i'm using licq (daily snapshot of 05/01) on kde3 qt 3.0.3, and i'm really
satisfied with it.

Anyway, here's the fact:

in Options -> OnEvent, if i check "Online Notify when Logging On", at logon i
effectively hear "User is Online" message, but then this message is repeated
exactly every 60 seconds, even if there's no client-server activity.

If i unchek "Online Notify when Logging On", i never hear the message when
somebody on my list is coming online (they are all in the Online Notify
group).

Everyone else is experiencing this?

Thanks a lot
Greg
