You may need to adjust the ping interval to fix this problem. Licq cannot
find out if the proxy server has been disconnected from ICQ. The protocol
for ICQ does not send a reply to the ping message. So Licq cannot tell if it
is still connected or not.

You can try changing the variable PING_FREQUENCY in include/licq_constants.h
to 30. This is the number of seconds that Licq will send the ping packet.
By default it is set to 60 seconds.

Hope this helps.

Jon

RE: [Licq-main] Licq behind corporate firewall and proxy

2004-05-19 Thread Palic, Darko
Hello Thomas,

I do not know if it is a problem between my licq-client and my proxy, or
between the proxy and login.icq.com, or anything other.
My LICQ show always the status online but I'm already disconnected.
Therefore the message I write in this cases are always lost.

I hope I could explain my problem now in a better way.

Darko

I'm behind a corporate Firewall and proxy. I cannot connect directly
to someone and have to use the https proxy.

So far so good. But Licq cannot determine if my connection to icq is
already closed. This is really odd, because I can send in that case
messages to my partners and they will never get them. I have to
switch manually between online and offline to determine if my
  connection is
 still
  alive.

Hm, what do you mean by connection? Are you talking about the
connection between your licq-client and the corporate proxy? or
internet-connectivity at all (network down)? Or does the icq server
 disconnect you?
I seem to not understand your problem :(

 Thomas
