  My guess is that bass figures should indeed be centered on the note

  But only the figures. Accidentals, +, etc. should not be taken into
  account in the centering, contrary to Bertrand's first workaround.
  If someone possessing a reference book could confirm this, thanks.

 Could this be considered as the minimal example and the bad output?:

 \new Staff  { \clef F c1 c c \bar |.}

 \new FiguredBass \figuremode {

 51 6 4+ 2\+ 6

 }

 This is really just a quick workaround, no solution, as it badly breaks as
 soon as a figure has an accidental:

 \new Staff  { \clef F c1 c c \bar |.}
   \new FiguredBass \figuremode {
 \figuredBassCenterOnNote
 \set figuredBassPlusDirection = #RIGHT
 51 6 4+ 2\+ 6
   }

 By default, the numbers are all aligned, irrespective of whether one of them
 has an alteration (#, b, +). With your figuredBassCenterOnNote (which is a
 good idea), that alignment of the numbers is totally lost.

Hi,

Someone just asked a (different) question concerning figured bass
alignment on the French users mailing list, but then I found track of
this issue there, as well as this conversation.

AFAICS this issue is still present with 2.17.11.
I do not find the original report on the issue tracker, and I suppose
no fix has been pushed, since figures are not centered on note column.

Could someone confirm this situation?

Then addition of this on the tracker would be appreciated.
Thanks you.

Cheers,
Xavier
