When I receive a message from this mailing list, often I hit reply and

I'm replying to.
This poor person then has to send me an e-mail asking me to keep the
discussion in the mailing list. And I have then to resend the message to
the mailing list itself.
This I think is waste of time and energy and could be avoided by setting
the mailing list parameters (if possible) such that, when replying, the
reply is sent to the mailing list itself, not to the original sender.

Wouldn't it be as simple as letting the mailing list server insert
something like
X-Reply-to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
or something like that into the header of the forwarded mails?
It's not that I (and several other list members) am too lazy to change
the header, but sometimes (or more often than not :) I simply forget to
do this.
I have agreed with you for quite some time since I subscribe to quite a
few lists that are set up like this one. I have made the mistakes you
have made often.

OTOH I appreciate that many lists like this one are set up so that
people who are not subscribed to the list can also post. What I have
started to do is to choose Reply All and then adjust the header as
necessary. This works for this list as well as for subscriber-only
lists. I suggest you consider developing this habit as a compromise
that should benefit all. If the list is changed as you suggest then all
non-subscribers will not receive the benefit of seeing your
contributions to this list unless they constantly search the archives.

Then again allowing non-subscribers to post does invite SPAM so there
might not be a simple solution here but the Reply All solution works
for me.

Paul Scott

 Sir,

 I need your help,I am Davis Moful the son of a
 Late minister during the reign of mobutu seseko,
 I came to know you in the course of my search for
 a reliable and God fearing partner and I decide
 to contact you because I believe you are a reputable

 My father was a minister in Democratic Republic of

 Our father was killed during the rebel attack and
 our house was burnt. We manage to escape to Accra

 my father he deposited US$25 MILLION, with a
 security company firm that transports valuable goods
 and consignments through diplomatic means.The money
 is kept in a trunk boxes and was registered as precious
 substance. Thus there is nobody that knows that it is money
 that is in the box.

 All the documents with which the money was deposited
 is with us. I am looking for somebody that is capable and
 willing to travel to Madrid-Spain to receive the two trunk boxes
 of money on behalf of my family from the security company and buy
 a house where we can live the rest of our life, for us and
 invest the rest part of the money in any lucrative business.

 We need a trust worthy and experience person that
 will help us to invest this money in your country and

getting closer

2003-06-21 Thread Aaron
Hi all,
I made a wrapper file as follows:

\documentclass [a4paper] {article}
\usepackage[english,hebrew]{babel}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\usepackage[dvips]{graphicx}

\begin{document}
input{lilyponddefs.tex}
\input titledefs.tex

\def\mustmakelilypondtitle{abcd}

\begin{document}

\lilypondfile{myscore.ly}

and ran:

  maybe I should remove the babel line and add something for etex??

   elatex mywrapper.tex

 Frankly I have no idea why defalut 'latex' is the one using etex.

I recommend that people use the keyboard shortcut for reply to all,
instead of using icons. Then you can simply remember hit g when replying
on a lilypond- mailing list (for example) and then type your message.
With Mozilla it's Ctrl-shift-R which I could memorize but clicking
Reply All is just as easy or easier. I haven't found a mail client
that handles all of my needs as well as Mozilla and I have tried quite a
few. I need easy handling of threads on many lists filtered into many
folders from multiple mailboxes.

Don't worry about the headers; it's more trouble than it's worth.

No trouble here. It's just a couple of clicks with Mozilla. Since I
know you are subscribed it was quite easy to avoid sending you two
copies. I used to actually click on Address and remove the individual
address and replace it with the Lilypond user address from my address book.

Have fun,

Paul
