Re: hairpins ending at line break (or bar line)
Kieren Richard MacMillan wrote: [ Mac OS X 10.2.8; Lilypond 2.0.1 ] Hello, all -- Just wondering if there's a way to force a dynamic to be the length of the note it is "attached to", but not to go over the (bar-)line if a break occurs at that point. Here is an example (from Igor Engraver): Problem is (with Lilypond), when I attach the \! to the last note on the system, the hairpin ends vertically aligned with that note (not what I want); when I attach it to the first line in the next measure, the hairpin "breaks" over the system break (as it should, but also not what I want). I suppose I could have a second voice with some hidden/skipped notes and attach the dynamics to that, but if there's an easier way, I'd like to know about it. I think that's it right now. Something like: << { a1 } { s2..\< s8\! } >> You just have to adjust the s values to get what you need. Re: How to add Jazz alt chords
Dear Amelie (and others), just to get this richt: an "alt chord" is a real chord designation and not just "some altered tones". An "alt chord" has 1, b2, #2, 3, b5, b6, b7 and makes for some interesting sounds, both harmonically (no 5, just b5 and #5) and melodically (I especially like having b3 and 3 in this chord). Composers for pieces
Hello! Is it possible to write different composer name for pieces inside one lilipond files? I've tried it, but Lilipond takes only the first composer and writes it on top of all the pieces. Best wishes, Oleg Eterevsky. ___ Lilypond-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user

beamed stem length (3 voices mess)
Hi, I am typesetting a harpsichord score where 3 distinct voices are placed on the upper staff. Pictures are joined showing that part. I have to take into account several problems for the middle voice : - unbeamed stem length; - beamed stem length; - note head shift; - tie direction and position. My question for the moment is: how to shorten beamed stems? I played with \property Voice.Stem \set #'beamed-lengths = #... \property Voice.Beam \set #'beamed-stem-shorten = #... \property Voice.Beam \set #'shorten = #... and others, without success. I cannot find in the mail archive an accurate answer for LilyPond 2.0. I use LilyPond 2.0.1 on Debian GNU/Linux.
