Re: Italian/Spanish: multiple vowels on one note
For clarification, it's called an elision (the vowels are elided together) and I’ve secretly been wondering about it as well. It's a problem in Finale, too.Am 01.02.2006 um 20:06 schrieb cordilow (sent by Nabble.com): Hello, I've been searching for a way to represent what looks like an upside down breve, and also what looks like a breve spaced as low as an underscore. I've been using a miniature circumflex for this, and sometimes a breve, but I want to use the actually characters. Is there a way to add these in Lilypond? problem with cue notes
Here's part of the bass part to a song: { \voiceFour b, 2 4 4 4. a,8 d2 } I want the lower notes in the interval brackets (i.e. the g, in ) mentioned to be cue notes. How is this possible, the way I have it set up? Is it possible? I don't want to make another voice, because it'll mess up the formatting of the stems, and make things rather inconvenient, even if it's just full of invisible rests. Why can't cue notes be made as simply as grace notes? All I want is the note head size to be smaller (I don't care about the stem size and all that, as the stem is attached to the other note in the bass part; the cue notes are meant to be optional alternative bass part). Footers/headers and line breaks
Hello, I was wondering how to create a footer. The documentation talks about them, but it never says how to make them. So far, I've only been able to make a footer by using tagline in the header. The following does not work, or compile for that matter: \footer { poet = "some poet" composer = "some composer" } Also, I was wondering how to make line breaks in a header or footer. I was also wondering how to make additional pieces of text in a header or footer. I mean, if I want something besides the poet or composer--like a reference, and/or a copyright notice, for example--or even just a note. I mean, \header { otherHeaderItem = "this or that" } Does seem to work. Also, if such can be added, how do I position it where I want? Hmm . . . Is there a way to just arrange it with HTML, and have it pretend that the music (staves, notes, and lyrics) is a picture in between? That would be extremely nice. Thanks! Any feedback would be appreciated. piano introduction marks
Hello, I'm searching for a way to represent hymn-style piano introduction marks in Lilypond. I've looked at all the unicode characters I could find, and I haven't found anything appropriate. These are the closest characters I could find: ΓГЃгךדר But they don't exactly work professionally. I need the opening and closing ones to look exactly the same, and I would like the intersecting bars to be the same length as each other. Anyway, I'm adding a picture of what I'm talking about. Vertical lyric/stanza spacing
Hello, I've been trying to figure this out for months and months--ever since I started using Lilypond, anyway. I've looked at the documentation (2.6.4), and I could not find a way to change the vertical spacing, or padding, or whatever it is in this case, between verses of lyrics (stanzas). I've found ways to change the horizontal, however. Preferably, I would like to do it with addlyrics. Is there a way to remove *all* vertical padding and spacing between stacked verses? Anyway, if you know how, please tell me as much information as you can. I suppose this would be done with something like \override someCommand #'verticalPadding = #0.0 or such, but I don't know where to put it, even if I knew what commands to use. If I had the following: \addlyrics { \stanza = "1. " here are some ly -- rics } \addlyrics { \stanza = "2. " here are ly -- rics for the se -- cond verse } How would I make those two stanzas closer together, veritcally? a new LilyPond music page
Greetings: I've set up a site that contains some of my recent LP projects : http://linux-sound.org/dlp-music-lilypond/ Feel free to comment & criticize as desired. Btw, I used LP version 2.6.3 from Demudi 1.3.0rc1. I'm still finessing the pieces there. Some problems to resolve : How do I get a hairpin crescendo to span a series of single-staff polyphonic measures ? So far everything I've tried results in the compiler complaining of unterminated crescendi. Are string numbers available in 2.6.3 ? I indicate them, the compiler doesn't complain about them, but they don't display. How can I move fingering indicators out of the way of slur and phrase curves ? In general, how do I override default spacing of elements such as slurs and ties ? I've briefly looked at the docs, I'm sure there's a way, but is there a preferred method ? I had a few days to do nothing but play with LilyPond, so I dug in and had some great fun. I'm just getting re-started with the program, the learning curve has been relatively painless, and I love the output quality. Big thanks to all LP devels and users ! So far everything I've tried results in the compiler complaining of unterminated crescendi. Make sure that the beginning and the end of the hairpin happens in the same Voice. If you use the <<{...} \\ {...} >> feature, make sure to read Sect. "6.6.2 Explicitly instantiating voices" of the manual to understand what it really does. Re: trouble with easyHeads

I don't mean\setEasyHeadsmelody=\notes{ c'4 }but instead this:melody = \notes{\setEasyHeadsc'4}Note also that \notes is a command from old lilypond; you don't need it any more.- GrahamI also noticed that if you enlarge the noteheads with \set fontSize = #3 for exampleonly the note name inside the notehead is enlarged, not the notehead itself ...is this a bug ??
