Re: Using texi2html for the documentation
2008/3/24, Reinhold Kainhofer [EMAIL PROTECTED]: That the lilypond server always forces the German version upon me. Of course, I want amazon, ebay, etc. in German, but for the Lilypond docs, German is useless, because I mostly don't know the proper German terms. Have you tried to use a firefox extension (see my former mail)? It's not really convenient, but it's still the less painful way I've found for now. Parenthesizing rests
I've done some archive searching but there does not appear to be any solution. How does one parenthesize rests? I'm preparing a number of transcriptions that will eventually be formally published (with Lilypond credited as the engraver) and need to be able to show editorial rests as well as pitches. I am having the same problems outlined in the list archives. simultaneous free rhythms
hello list, i found a problem i can't solve by myself. i'm writing a string quartet with a section where the four instruments play in free rhythm, independently from each other. the cello plays a melody and the three other instruments play whole notes with fermatas, all of them freely. the general score is of course only an approximation of the result (see attached handwritten excerpt). first i wrote the cello part using cadenzaOn and \bar to force line breaks. that was OK, and i thought it would be as easy as doing the same in the other voices. but i realized that everything gets aligned and that you can't put independent line breaks. what's the best method to achieve what i'm trying to do? i hope i have stated the problem clearly enough. best, lj attachment: free.png___ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user

from MIDI?
It's possible to make a .ly file into a MIDI file, but is it possible to have a midi file and convert it back to a .ly file, or even better, a .pdf file?
