Re: Frescobaldi?

2024-04-28 Thread Mats-Olof Liljegren
I use Frescobaldi on all of my Macs with slightly different operating systems.
It works well, but I'm concerned about the future. Unfortunately, I'm not a
programmer, so I can't contribute with coding. This is exciting, perhaps a bit
too exciting, considering how we'll be able to continue with Lilypond. Is
Frescobaldi the most common tool on Linux, or what do the majority of Lilypond
users use?

Lyrics alignAboveContext

2023-11-01 Thread Mats-Olof Liljegren
Hi!

In this part I would like to have the lyrics above soprano 1 and Oh as lyrics
to Sop 2 and Alto.

Can I solve this with alignAboveContext on only that part?

And I would like to print the chords like c#m7-5 f#m7-9 but have no clue.

What to do?

Thank you Jakob!
New to Lilypond so need to figure out how to use snippets. But I’ll try this
and gets back if I can’t get it.

Re: Lilypond Terminates on Start-Up

2023-09-19 Thread Mats-Olof Liljegren
Hello,

I am using Frescobaldi with success on several Mac with different OS.

I can confirm that I have to click on Frescobaldi in the Dock after first
start. But after that it runs perfect.

I have also to confirm in security settings that it is ok to run several
program that Frescobaldi needs to work eg. Lilypond.

I have downloaded the latest(?) 2.25.. version of Lilypond and in Frescobaldi I
point to lilypond in the folder where I hav placed the folders. It’s easy to
have several lilypond versions if you want. Just point it to the one you would
like to run.

So for me it is easy to run Frescobaldi on Mac. The only thing is that I have
to click on the Frescobaldi icon in dock when I start up the program.

Maybe there are other issues that I’m not aware of, but for me it works great.

Newbie questions

2023-09-01 Thread Mats-Olof Liljegren
Hello!

I'm a beginner with Lilypond but have decent programming knowledge. Something I
haven't managed to figure out is how to best organize my projects. It becomes a
very long file if everything is in the same one, so I've tried splitting it
into separate `.ly` files for lyrics, soprano, alto, tenor, bass, and so on. It
works, but I'm guessing there are smarter ways to organize scores and lyrics.

I've heard about `.ily` files, and if anyone could provide me with links where
I can learn and understand more, I would be grateful.

I've of course searched the internet and tried to find resources, but it hasn't
been very successful, so I'm taking the liberty to ask here and hope it's okay.

Best regards,
Mats-Olof Liljegren, an arranger residing in Sweden.
