I run Lilypond (2.11.32), GIMP, and Inkscape (all using GTK) on my Win XP 
notebook and have no problems - must be a Win2k thing or some other issue.

As an aside, I'm installing LaTeX now after reading an article comparing 
Word, OO.o Writer and LaTeX.
I figure if I can use Lilypond, I can use LaTeX too!
Seems like LaTeX and Lilypond share similar philosophies/aesthetics.
We'll see how I get along.
