Re: Piano duet with facing pages

2018-08-30 Thread ptoye
I've tried Hwaen's solution and it works. I don't really need all to use PDF
tools as it's only a small score and I don't have a duplex printer anyway,
so can sort the pages by hand.

Thanks all for the help.

Re: Piano duet with facing pages

2018-08-30 Thread Peter Toye
Dear Hwaen,

Thanks very much. I'd searched Nabble for Piano duet and Piano duo, but not
piano 4 hands! And there's more recent thread there
http://lilypond.1069038.n5.nabble.com/Pages-numbering-for-piano-4-hands-td214097.html

Best regards,

It would be nice if LilyPond could provide a native approach to that problem
that pops up regularly.

A workaround would be to use the edition-engraver & page-layout packages to
manage synchronized (manual) breaks, create two pdfs, shuffle them somehow and
have the pagination done separately (e.g. in LaTeX).

A more low-level feature request would be to add a paper variable that allows
odd-only or even-only pagination.

Piano duet with facing pages

2018-08-30 Thread Peter Toye
I’m trying to engrave a piano duet with the primo and secondo parts on facing
pages, but can't find a way of doing this. I found a discussion from 2010 on
Nabble which didn't seem to come to a conclusion.

Is there a way of doing this (with synchronised page-breaks, of course!) in
more recent versions of LP?

If not, how do people manage it? Producing separate primo and secondo files
with manual page breaks works, but the page numbering goes awry.
