Re: Recent user trying to find out how to mix music and text.
Another option instead of integrating LP with LaTeX just to import into OOo would be to learn LaTeX. I'm just starting off with LaTeX myself, and honestly, I think it will be better (more professional) looking and easier to integrate. All the same you should be able to import files into OOo, and it shouldn't be overly difficult.Reinhard [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi,Graham Percival wrote: On 3-Jun-06, at 1:51 AM, Roderick Camelia wrote:I'm a recent user of Lilypond and currently writing a music theory book for popular music. Now I need to find out if it's possible to copy the examples from my Adobe Reader 7.0 to my Openoffice.org 2.o Writer where I'm writing the text. Thanks in advance. This is explained in Chapter 13 lilypond-book: Integrating text and music. There you will find that the integration is done with LaTeX, texinfo, and html. If you are definitely using OpenOffice.org, you can probable insert pdf images into your document. For more info, you'll have to consult somebody more familiar with OOo (possibly on this mailist).I guess a good solution would be to produce postscript instead of pdfand to import that file to a image processor like gimp or inkscape. Thatway you can create either png or svg files which both could be used asimages in youropenoffice file. AFAIR OOWriter also supports importing of encapsulatedpostscript which can be created withthe ghostscript-tool ps2epsi.Best,Reinhard-- Software-Engineer, Developer of User InterfacesProject: Canorus - the next generation music score editor - http://canorus.berlios.deGnuPG Public Key available on request___lilypond-user mailing listlilypond-user@gnu.orghttp://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user __Do You Yahoo!?Tired of spam? You could also do lilypond --png input.ly to produce a png. :)There's also an svg backend, but I'm not certain what state it's in.
