Hi Graham,

A late reply, but: I'd like to help with the GDP :) I will probably have
a couple of hours a week. Perhaps it's best for me to start with some
of the formatting/trivial tasks to get a feel for working with the docs.

Great! Start reading the text files on the GDP website, particularly
helper-begin.txt and the texinfo-*.txt files. Then download
tutorial.itely, make a few small changes (could be anything, even a
completely made-up "Alard was here") and send me the new file.

Once you've done that, I'll give you a second assignment.

Cheers,
- Graham

Right now, it's just a couple of minutes every now and then on my
girlfriend's iBook or whenever I visit my mother... But as soon as I
get my computer back, it will probably be something like several hours
a week (the equivalent of the time I spent when I was translating the
manual).

As for the LSR, it needs only a browser but it also does require some
time, which is not easy... I'll see what I can do anyway.

Regards,
Valentin

Argh! This is tough... I'm still waiting for my laptop :(

Anyway, as soon as I can, you can count me in. I can't wait!

PS. By the way, I always wonder if your middle name isn't Donald or
something...
"Graham Don. Percival": that would explain the GDP initialism ;)

Take the Grand Documentation Project challenge!

2007-10-17 Thread Graham Percival
As you are hopefully aware, we are currently engaged in a short-term
(2-4 month) project to vastly improve the documentation. You can see
the results here:

http://web.uvic.ca/~gperciva/
(follow the link to GDP output)

Particularly in chapter 1 Pitches of the user manual.

Unfortunately, there are currently only two people working on this
project. There's a lot of work to be done, so it would be nice if we
had more people involved.
