I guess you need Vertical spacing inside a system,
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.13/Documentation/notation/vertical-spacing-inside-a-system

Don't you? Sorry, i am not sure that understood you right.

Be careful! These are some commonly used abbreviations:
   • LM -- Learning Manual
   • NR -- Notation Reference
   • IR -- Internal Reference

Look at LilyPond’s documentation to find more.

Hi!
I can't understand well either.

 Hello,
I'm producing parts for my overture, while finding a very frustrating
visual problem. I'd like Lilypond to auto resize staves to pages, but I know
the staff size must be set manually. Therefore, even a single line score
causes all pages to have staves running out of.

However, when I read this I'm wondering if you don't have a problem of
rhythm synchronization, i.e. one measure in one part that would not
have the right duration of notes inside that measure, thus causing this
staves running out of.

Or do you have a cadenza maybe?

Without further information about your file(s) it is not so easy to
understand exactly what is your issue and what you want to achieve.

You can use different settings for your conductor score and your parts,
but of course it depends of how you have structured your files
(variables, includes, ...).

Maybe you could try sending a minimal example showing how your
file(s) is (are) looking.

Cheers,
Xavier
