[LincolnTalk] Looking to borrow a hepa air filter

2021-11-04 Thread CLAIRE GERSTEIN via Lincoln

I have family coming from out of town for 10 days starting tomorrow night.
One of them has a log of allergies which are helped by using a hepa air filter.
Might someone have one I could borrow while they’re here?
Thanks
Claire

[LincolnTalk] Gas Fireplace inserts-seeking recommnedations

2021-11-04 Thread Sara Mattes
Time to limit wood burning to the wood-burning stove, and retrofit the main
fireplace w/ one of those instant fire ones….a gas insert.

Any one had a good experience with a company around here?

We need advice as to what would work best, and also be able to retrofit the
chimney with a stainless steel liner.

I will forego the usual LT qualifier…”for a reasonable” price"…whatever that
means.

I need a good, safe and attractive insert-those are the top priorities.

Afraid I have to weigh in on Erwin Liverman - he came to look at my chimney and
charged me a lot of money to tell me that he couldn’t do the work. Not a good
experience.

[LincolnTalk] FPL Racial Justice Journey, "The Pilgrims" at 7 tonight on zoom

2021-11-04 Thread Joan Kimball
*Thursday, November 4 at 7 pm*
Join us as we continue to look at the people who created our history. This
month we are looking at the interactions between the Native Americans and
the Pilgrims.

This PBS American Experience documentary, *The Pilgrims*, illuminates the
English world of the passengers on the Mayflower, the practical, political
and theological considerations that motivated them to undertake their 1620
crossing and the complexities of their first years in America. This group,
that the documentary calls the least likely to succeed in settling a
nation, against all odds, established a colony. According to Jill Lepore,
one of the historians featured in this documentary, this story erases other
histories, and becomes our story.

And today, we are searching to hear all the voices.

Hi Lincoln Talkers,

I’m downsizing from a 32” wide professional grade Ariens snowblower.
Self-propelled, well maintained and always stored inside, it is in good
condition and perfect for a younger, stronger person than I. Electric starter,
but I never had to use it, so needs new battery. $400 OBO.

Re: [LincolnTalk] Fun Fall Help...

2021-11-04 Thread ERIC SNYDER
Hi Sarah,

I recently cut down 3 huge Oak trees and had all the wood cut into 18" rounds
and left for us. All the cleanup and branches have been removed. The rounds are
in the driveway easily accessible to a splitter and a pickup truck.

I also have seasoned rounds ready to split.

I am willing to share the wood with whoever splits it and stacks my half.

If you find anyone interested or if you need more fire wood, let me know.

I usually split wood with an axe and wedge. Not this time. I will work along
side anyone who has a splitter.

I also have a leaf cleanup job.

Stay safe,

Eric
