[LincolnTalk] ISO rolling case for student snare drum kit

2022-10-17 Thread Terry Kay Epperson
My son is struggling a bit with the backpack carrying case for his snare
drum and has requested a rolling case. Any chance someone has one that I
can buy, before I buy new?

Warm regards,
Terry Kay

[LincolnTalk] ISO Princess Leia and Vampire costumes for 2 kids

2022-10-17 Thread Katrin Roush
I am wondering if anyone has a Princess Leia costume for 8 yo and a black cape
etc for a 5yo vampire. I thought somebody might have these in their costume box
and we could borrow.

We also have some fancy princess dresses if anyone wants to borrow. It’s nice
make Halloween more green ;0)

[LincolnTalk] Info for School Forum tonight and Tuesday

2022-10-17 Thread Susan Taylor
Tonight, October 17th at 6pm in the Donaldson Auditorium at the Lincoln School
is the first parent and caregiver Superintendent search forum. See below for
more information.

As part of the Lincoln Public Schools search process for the next
Superintendent of Schools, consultants from the Collins Center at UMass Boston
will host focus groups/listening sessions for all parents, caregivers, and
other community members. We want your input about the type of leader and
leadership that will best serve the future for Lincoln Public Schools. This
information will be used to develop a profile for a Lincoln Public Schools
superintendent which will be presented to the School Committee in November.

The focus groups will be held on:

October 17th at 6:00pm in the Donaldson Auditorium at the Lincoln School.
This is for all parents, caregivers, and other members of our community.
October 18th at 6:00pm, a focus group for parents, caregivers, and community
members who cannot attend in person will be held via Zoom: Parent and
Community Zoom Link

October 19th at 7:00pm, a focus group will be held for parents, and caregivers
of our Boston students via Zoom: Boston Parents and Caregivers Zoom Link
.
(Please note families of our Boston students are welcome and encouraged to
attend any of the sessions.)
Your input is important to helping us form a profile of the new Superintendent
selected to lead our district. This profile will inform the decision making of
the School Committee and search committee. It also informs potential
applicants about the district and job expectations. Your feedback at the focus
groups will be kept anonymous and not attributed to an individual in the
report.

If you cannot attend any of the sessions, but would like to provide input into
the same questions posed at the focus group meetings, or would like to share
your thoughts with us, please feel free to complete the online survey at
SuptSearchSurvey
.
Responses must be received by October 30th at 4:00 pm. All responses
received are anonymous.

We hope you will participate.

Not sure what the role of a Superintendent is? The overview below provides a
brief and broad overview of the role of a school superintendent. It is not a
job description, nor is it a complete list of duties and responsibilities.

Overview of the Role of Superintendent of Schools

A superintendent is the educational leader (i.e. chief executive) of a school
district. The superintendent is hired by the school committee to create and
execute a shared vision for their district.

Superintendent positions have an intense workload, often working long hours to
get the job done. In general, superintendents can expect to perform all of the
following tasks and more year-round:

Establish and oversee organizational goals and procedures
Hire and supervise district office staff and principals
Establish a shared vision with specific goals to improve student academic
progress and sense of belonging
Define and meet key performance metrics
Act as the school committee’s educational advisor, and implement policies
adopted by the school committee
Manage operations of the district
Plan and adhere to budgets and financial plans
While the activities listed above are important parts of the job, communication
is perhaps the most essential. Good superintendents are liaisons who
effectively communicate important information and facilitate conversations with
a variety of stakeholders, including:

Students and their families
Teachers, principals and educational staff
Operations and administration staff
Press and media
School committee
Community organizations
Government agencies
Unions
The role of a superintendent is broad, and involves many difficult decisions.
It takes an exceptional person with a unique skill set to be an effective
school superintendent.

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience and/or advice about renting wheelchairs?
I've googled it of course & there seem to be plenty of options, but I'd
appreciate input from anyone who's gone down this road before.

Thanks,
