Re: [LincolnTalk] ISO careful mice exterminator

2023-12-30 Thread Robin Sawyer Rawls

Thorough, effective, humane. A nice guy. I called after seeing him
recommended on LT many times.

He went over the exterior of our house and screened or plugged up holes,
 cracks, vents.

He ser traps (with peanut butter) in the basement to catch mice left
inside. Came back a couple times to monitor “activity”

Totally worth it. He deals with more than mice as well (like squirrels).

Re: [LincolnTalk] ALERT: COMPLETE OUTDOOR WATERING BAN

2022-07-25 Thread Robin Sawyer Rawls
You can also collect the condensation water from your a/c, if you have
one. We have central a/c and the pvc pipe running down the outside of our
house just drips onto the ground under our deck. I placed a
bucket underneath it this morning and by evening collected 10 gallons.
(Our a/c has been at 78.) Water from the air.

Funny - I also used the salad spinner and pasta water (cooled version)
tonight :)

[LincolnTalk] Center Goods in Lexington - another resource for those who wish to bring their own containers

In addition to Debra's in Concord:

For cleaning supplies, skin and hair care - bring your own containers to
fill. They don't even have to be fully empty.
My favorite is the assortment of lip balm (aka Chapstick) in cardboard
push-up tubes!

On Waltham Street, across from Webster Bank.
Very friendly, helpful and passionate owner.

Happy plastic-free shopping!

Re: [LincolnTalk] Fwd: Animal ID please

2022-01-03 Thread Robin Sawyer Rawls
Dawn Collins, a Wildlife Rehabilitator in western MA who specializes in
bobcats (!), and David Wattles of Mass Fish & Wildlife have been super
helpful.
Dawn identified this cat as not a bobcat, but a Serval cat. They are
illegal in Massachusetts, as a few of you have surmised.
David will be coming out to capture and find a safe home for it.
Hopefully the cat stays with Vic and that Vic will send another update!
