[LincolnTalk] Seeking corn stalks

2024-10-09 Thread Sara Levine

Hello.

I am wondering if anybody has corn stalks left standing that they could make
available to dear friends who are building a community sukkah? They ideally
need about 100 stalks & are happy to come harvest them.

Happy Fall beauty to you all!

Thanks,
Sara

[LincolnTalk] Do you have pots or house plants to give away?

2024-08-16 Thread Sara Levine

Hello dear town,

My daughter has become quite an avid urban gardener and house plant parent at
college (you can take the kid out of Lincoln, but…)😁🌿

She is wondering if folks might have pots sitting around that you are ready to
part with or house plants looking to be adopted or rehabilitated?
She would most happily pick up any donations this weekend.

Thanks all.

Happy mid-August!

[LincolnTalk] How to discourage a woodpecker?

2023-11-21 Thread Sara Levine
Hi neighbors-

I’m curious about your thoughts and wisdom on discouraging a woodpecker who is
gleefully drilling holes in the side of our house.

We have no obvious signs of ants or termites and the friendly pest control guy
says we need to wait til Spring to even check or treat anyway?!

Has anything worked for you to redirect the woodpeckers?

Thanks!

[LincolnTalk] Seeking rental in Lincoln

2023-05-01 Thread Sara Levine
Posting for a very lovely friend:

Hello!
I’m seeking a peaceful 1 person rental living situation in Lincoln.

(Also open to Lexington, Concord, Weston, Wellesley, West Newton, Belmont,
Wayland.)

Ideally I’m looking for a Sept 1st rental (for a year or potentially more), but
could possibly move in sooner if needed.

I’ve been renting in West Newton next to Dolan Pond for the past 12 years, but
circumstances have changed for my landlord, and I need to move.

My budget is up to $1000 + utilities, or up to $1200 including utilities. If
you have, or know of anyone who has a 1 bedroom apartment, in-law apartment,
carriage house, cottage, large studio, available room in their home, or is
looking to fill a 2 or 3 bedroom house share I’d be most grateful if you would
get in touch and/or forward my contact information.

I am an excellent, trustworthy, responsible, stable, tenant who takes good care
of their landlord's property, and will provide a great landlord reference and
meet other rental requirements.

On my Wishlist: 1st floor (2nd floor ok, but prefer not basement or attic),
access to full kitchen, green space (yard or near woods), private bath, some
storage, partially or completely unfurnished.
.
Need: bathtub, bicycle storage (outdoors is ok), parking (on street ok,
depending on area)

I don’t have pets, don’t smoke (anything), and am allergic to cats and some
dogs.

Please contact me – Jackie, at ja...@rcn.com or 617-642-2236, and I will be
happy to answer all questions about myself. Thank you for reading, and
forwarding if you know of anything!

[LincolnTalk] Free: Tully Lake camp site available for tonight & tomorrow night

2022-05-25 Thread sara levine

Hi Neighbors:

Crazy last minute offer here:

Would anyone make use of a very beautiful campsite for tonight and Thursday
night?

We had a reservation at Tully Lake in Royalston Ma, ( about 1 hr and 20 mins
from Lincoln). but now, can’t use it. We are happy for someone else to enjoy
it as a gift.

It’s a very special spot!

An easy walk-in site over a small footbridge, surrounded by lovely woods and
miles of hiking trails, a couple of sweet waterfalls.
Perfect basecamp to canoe or swim, or just hang in your hammock and watch
clouds float by.

[LincolnTalk] Help to find a fabulous man for my dear friend

2021-08-06 Thread sara levine
Dear Lincoln,

You all are such good judges of character when it comes to roofers and dog
walkers and so generous about sharing advice, used furniture and finding lost
pets.
So now I'm putting out a new kind of request for our village of powerful & deep
hearted networkers...

Can you help me find a fabulous man for one of my most beloved friends?!?!

She is an extraordinary woman who has recently started dating after losing her
husband 18 months ago.
And though she may be open to online dating, I had the (brilliant?) idea to
take this project to the Lincoln list— where magic happens!
She had a good laugh, and finally, in the spirit of being open to what life
brings… said ok!

So here we are.

Please read the description below and if you know a lovely man that might be a
good fit to connect with her, please reach out to me privately.

A little about Her:
J is a vivacious, grounded, warm, open minded, positive, and physically
beautiful woman.
In her mid 60’s, she is vibrant, energetic, fit and loves to travel, ski, play
tennis, bike, walk the beach, and do almost any outdoor activity.
She is trained as a professional violinist, has a successful career as a
beloved psychologist, and is the founder of a non-profit which supports
community healthcare in Africa.

She raised her family in Lexington, but since her husband passed away, has been
spending most of her time at their beautiful home overlooking the ocean in
Southern Maine.
Her two adult kids and adorable grandchildren live out of state, but gather for
family holidays and traditions, like their annual Octoberfest when they play
lawn games and press their own cider!

She has a deep connection to classical music, adores opera and is also thrilled
to dance the night away to classic rock. (And, did I mention, she can dance!)
She knows how to throw an incredible party, and is just as happy to sit with a
friend in deep, intimate conversation.
She is one of the most empathic, generous, trustworthy and upbeat people I
know— which is why so many people profoundly adore, love and respect her!

Who she is looking for:
We want to find a kind hearted mensch for her to share the next chapter of life
with.
To be a good fit, he should be emotionally generous, comfortable in his own
skin, fun loving, physically active and open to welcoming new experiences. A
sense of adventure, a sense of humor, and a sense of wonder are all good!
A man who has his own passions and independent interests and is also excited to
co-create a deep, lasting intimacy and partnership.

Do you know this man?
Please reach out to me privately if someone comes to mind and we can enjoy a
little old fashioned match making.

May you all be well loved,
Sara--
