This is not a Bemis Lecture, it is a public event being held by a private in Bemis Hall.
Bemis Hall is a public facility and open for use, as such. It is a First Amendment issue-free speech in the public square. The unanimous ruling by the SJC earlier this week made clear that the town cannot discriminate as to who is allowed to use the hall, provided they follow the policies for use, as laid out by the town. Forms must be completed and a fee paid. All that has been done, and now, the names on the application for use have been corrected. The fee has been paid. The speaker has a right to speak. You man choose not to attend, as have I.
