[LincolnTalk] INF: loud music at pierce house and decordova

2023-10-16 Thread K Mierz via Lincoln
hello neighbors,
i’m writing to see if you are bothered by the weekend noise that comes from
weddings and partiesat the pierce house and/or the decordova museum?
for years i have heard the music that comes from their outdoor
festivities;sometimes it is subdued, most times it is not.
even though our house is more than a half mile away from both venues,i still
can usually tell what songs are being played at any given moment because the
music is often so loud.some nights i’ve had to close our windows - and even
then the glass might vibrate from the sound of the bass and the drums.i don’t
mind the music, but i think that’s too loud.
some of you are closer, some are further away from the sites.i know that our
neighbor jim is upset about the loudness, and the poor resident who lives right
across the street from the pierce house on weston road really suffers.he has
been measuring decibel levels at his houseand they are above what the pierce
house is supposed to adhere to.
i don’t like it when it is so loud that i have to close our windows for
hours, put on headphones/earplugs/fans and count the minutes until it stops.i am
grateful that the pierce house music stops at 11pm.the decordova's loud music
has sometimes gone on until 12:30am.
the pierce house and the decordova continue to work on the issue, and they want
to know if others are bothered by the music levelsand at how far a
distance.they have asked for feedback from neighbors.so i thought i would ask
you and see what your experience is.
if it’s an issue for you, please drop an e-mail to jennifer westlund, dan
pereira, tim higgins for the pierce house, and pilar garro at the
decordova/trustees of the reservations.

there will be a zoom meeting next weekon wednesday october 25th at 2pm for
anyone who wants to participate with the town and venue officials.i will post
the zoom link when i receive it.
peace, and hopefully soon, more quiet,
