I believe that HP releases their own Linux drivers. My HP Officejet 6500 worked out of the box with Mint 17, which is more than I can say about Win10. A friend is looking for a not-too-pricey laser printer. Monochrome, preferably duplex. She's running Linux Mint 18.3. I've had good success with Brother, but they recently changed all the model numbers, and it seems from forums that drivers may be imperfect. I could likely manage workarounds, but she needs a vanilla install. If anyone has recently acquired one, opinions welcome.
