[linux] SGI Altix... bientôt la fin de Lin ux ia64?
Hello la liste, un peu de potins aujourd'hui... SGI avait fait beaucoup de bruits avec sa sortie de l'ALTIX 3000, plate-forme pour Linux sur Itanium2. Il faut le dire, les performances de ces systèmes n'ont jamais pu concurrencer des clusters Opteron Linux... L'an dernier, les bureaux commerciaux SGI à Zaventem fermaient en laissant quelques ingénieurs de support au Belux pour assurer la maintenance des clients. Avant-hier, ils ont fait une petite annonce... "In a move that will reduce corporate debt by $250 million, SGI has announced a reorganization which includes a new CEO and CFO and other management personnel. SGI and its US subsidiaries have filed voluntary petitions under chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Oui. SGI est mort. Ils sont en banqueroute depuis lundi pour essayer de se redresser, mais il ne faut pas se faire d'illusions (à mon avis). Note que IA64 est quasiment mort-né avec l'avènement de x86_64 (AMD64/Opteron, EMT64 d'Intel), moins cher et beaucoup moins problématique (biarch). Il n'y a quasiment plus que HP qui a une stratégie pour IA64. Mais je ne la trouve pas sur le site de d-link ! Je m'auto-réponds: La version C1 de la carte en question est présentée non pas sur le site d-link.com mais bien sur le site dlink.fr. Il s'agit sûrement d'une version européenne. Tu peux toujours essayer ndiswrapper + le driver qui est sur le cd livre avec et croiser les doights mais pas toujours gagner. Je viens de tomber sur un blog où il y a un step by step complet pour cette carte sous ndiswrapper. J'aurais préféré fonctionner en natif Linux, mais si il faut utiliser ndiswrapper, pas de problème, on le fera. Pour ndiswrapper, je n'arrive pas à le faire fonctionner: sur le CD le driver est dans un setup.exe alors que ndiswrapper demande un .inf. J'ai bien trouvé http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com mais je n'arrive pas à installer le driver.
