BusinessWeek article tells the story of First National Bank of Nebraska consolidating 30 (Sun) Unix servers onto one mainframe. source IP address
I have quagga/zebra/ospf running and using our dummy interface on an SLES-9 running under LPAR on a z890. We have two OSA ports in use for eth0 and eth1. OSPF is doing its job advertising the ip address of the dummy interface and traffic is flowing via both OSA ports. The problem is when I do an rpc or spc to another server. The return IP address is being sent with the IP address of the adapter through which the packets left. My understanding is that Source VIPA will fix this problem but that means another product to install and support. The Source VIPA documentation points out that I can issue an ip route x src y command to achieve very much the same results. Is anybody doing something similar? what would be the exact syntax of the ip route command? EMC storage
I know this question has been discussed here before and I've tried to search the archives, but with no luck Has anyone used (or attempted to use) EMC storage attached via FCP with either Red Hat or Suse on the zSeries? I know EMC is not listed at http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/zseries/connectivity/#fcp but I was told in the past that it should work. Anybody tried it? Re: Java 1.5 on Linux for z/Series
Hi Folks, Is there any stated direction for Java 1.5 on Linux for z/Series by IBM or any other party? Michael: It is IBM's intention to ship Java 5.0 (nee 1.5) by year-end 2005 for Linux for zSeries.
