Re: Mainframe skill shortage
(let me try this again, I thought I sent this last week, but didn't see it hit the archives page. apologies if you see it twice.) Here's the web site for the IBM S/390 University program which has a brochure about the program and a Contact Form. http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/zseries/education/university/ It appears that S/390 University program is included with the IBM Scholarships program htttp://www-3.ibm.com/software/info/university/ In any case, if you need information about the programs, those are the sites with places to inquire. And, those wanting to raise your skill levels, consider attending one or more of the user groups, seminars, and tech conferences offered this year. For starters, check the worldwide VM events calendar http://ibm.com/eserver/zseries/zvm/events/ I appreciate your telling me of other z/VM and Linux on zSeries related events that should be included. Thanks. Regards, PLC Pam Christina IBM z/VM in Endicott, NY

Subject: Re: zSeries Technical Conference featuring z/OS, z/VM, and Linux Hello, I responded to a note that Bob sent to me directly. (I read LINUX-390 in a daily roll-up). Yes, there will be transportation (buses) for the delegates between the hotels and IBM conference center (morning & evening). Also, someone inquired about meals. Lunches are provided as part of the conference Tues, Wed, and Thurs. (There may also be a conference dinner and possibly an evening reception, but I don't have the specifics on that yet.)
