ISM shared?

2020-06-10 Thread Rinaldo Akio Uehara
Hi!
I wanted to test the smc-d on linux.
it was defined one pcif to z/vm and I was able to attach it to a guest and test.
I initially attached the pcif with 'attach pcif 1012 to lnxs9529 as 1012'.
When I tried 'attach pcif 1012 to lnxs9501 as 1012' it returned 'HCPPCI122E PCI
function 1012 already attached to LNXS9529'
My question is, can I share it with other guests?

Re: cio_ignore

No. They are not persistent.
You should add each address to /etc/dasd.conf

Sharing dasd between linux

2021-02-08 Thread Rinaldo Akio Uehara
I read the page [
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSB27U_6.4.0/com.ibm.zvm.v640.hcpa5/dsbmvm.htm
 |
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSB27U_6.4.0/com.ibm.zvm.v640.hcpa5/dsbmvm.htm
] , and I was unsure if that could work on linux (more specifically RHEL 8).
If I share disk between 4 RHEL guests as mentioned in the link, all of them
could read/write without risk of integrity?

Thanks!
