Re: Copy Folders

2005-01-11 Thread Ronald Wells
Here is the line I ended up using.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ftwjr.com]# cp -R /home2/home/httpd/vhosts/ftwjr.com
/home/httpd/vhosts/ftwjr.com

That copied all the subfolders that I wanted it to. The only problem
is that I ended up creating a new subfolder called ftwjr.com within the
ftwjr.com folder.

Since this is going on a web server, I "Must" create all the folders
in advance with another program. So, my question is, how do I copy the
files into an existing folder called ftwjr.com without creating a new
subfolder with the same name?

Think I'm missing something..

This is what I am doing, when trying to "copy" folders from one hard drive
to another. Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong? One drive is called
"home" and the other one is "home2", however there is also a 'home'
subfolder in the 'home2' folder.

Thanks for any ideas.?

[EMAIL PROTECTED] vhosts]# mkdir ftwjr.com
[EMAIL PROTECTED] vhosts]# cd ftwjr.com
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ftwjr.com]# cd /home2/home/httpd/vhosts/ftwjr.com/
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ftwjr.com]# cp -R /home/httpd/vhosts/ftwjr.com/
cp: missing destination file
Try `cp --help' for more information.

Unfortunatly still alot to go ... still being hammered to justify any
upgrades and yes third party products not making it easy nor are the
smaller server groups . Yes I gree it is getting better and IBM offering
more -- but not enough and becoming too short on delivery .. cost of owner
ship still seen negitive compared to smaller servers .
Just wishing for a quick fix and I know it will not happen .

2003-02-20 Thread Ronald Wells
They should follow what Gate's did in the beginning---give it away and nail
ya later on Maint./upgrades.
But then again how about IBM doing something really strange ... listen to
customers getting nailed on all the pricing by third part vendors as well
as IBM because it is a MAINFRAME ...guess it is true--IBM is trying to Kill
MVS/S-390/z-OS/VM/VSE--depends what flavor you are. If you run it on a zBOX
better open up the wallet
