Few things:

- In the VSWITCH output, there's Portname: OSD02, so in the PARM (or
CONF) file, you should have PORTNAME=OSD02.

- Try using lowercase subchannels, i.e.
SUBCHANNELS=0.0.0c00,0.0.0c01,0.0.0c02

- Add PORTNO=0 to PARM (or CONF) file

Our gateway router isn't responding to pings.  And I think that's the
root-cause for this problem.  I'll pursue this with our internal network

If the problem is router not replying to your pings, it's easy... After
this:

Just select 1, and it will install. No need to go after the network guy.

I am a SLES person instead of a Red Hat person, but...

We use vswitches for connection our Linux guests to the outside world.
I get similar
problems when I forget to authorize a newly created Linux guest to the
vswitch.

Also, is 512MB enough to do a Red Hat install?  I have had a number of
problems
running the SLES installer with not enough memory.
