SUSE Linux for 390
Is there a freely available (without support) version of SUSE Linux for 390? My company would like to evaluate it and then decide whether we want to run a supported production Linux image. We got a 6 mos trial version from them back about year or so. If they have one of those still available wouldn't that do it? You can download the code right from the SuSE web site. I don't have a URL handy for the correct page, but navigate around through the downloads area, it will be there. If and only if ISV certifications are not an issue, and they usually are. Plus, while I know the gang at SNA does a good job of providing commercial support for Debian/390, a lot of PHBs are not going to be willing to use them because they don't have thousands of employees all over the world. Another reason why PHBs stink, but unfortunately they're a fact of life. I don't, nor do I have a problem with anyone making a living from open source support.
