Updates to linuxvm.org
Over the holidays, I did finally manage to get completely caught up with all the updates I needed/wanted to make. Hopefully I won't get so far behind in the future. Mark Post
Updates to linuxvm.org
For anyone that's still out there reading, I'm caught up to the end of October. I also added the 64-bit Red Hat download/update links to the left of the main page. Mark Post
Re: Updates to linuxvm.org
Mark, The link to the unabridged version of SG24-4987-00 on http://spazioweb.inwind.it/bunga/linux390/books/sg244987.pdf gets what I think is the equivalent of a 404 error. But I cannot really read Italian. -- John McKown Senior Technical Specialist UICI Insurance Center Applications Solutions Team +1.817.255.3225 -Original Message- From: Mark Post [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, December 23, 2002 12:22 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Updates to linuxvm.org For anyone that's still out there reading, I'm caught up to the end of October. Re: Updates to linuxvm.org
John, I just clicked on the link, and got the book. This sounds familiar. The same sort of problem cropped up when the book was originally hosted there. No cause or resolution was ever found, and the problem just seemed to go away. You might try a different browser to see if that helps. Sorry I can't be of more help. Re: Updates to linuxvm.org
Maybe they have some kind of 'HTTP_REFERER' magic going on. Clicking on the link from linuxvm.org fails, but after putting the copied address into the location bar, it worked fine. Doesn't explain why the link works for Mark though :\. Even after accessing the page directly, going back to the link failed again (in current window or opening a new one). ~ Daniel -Original Message- From: Mark Post Sent: Monday, December 23, 2002 1:51 PM To: LINUX-390 Subject: Re: Updates to linuxvm.org John, I just clicked on the link, and got the book. Interesting. I hand typed the URL in and it worked for me too! Updates to linuxvm.org
I've been making a little progress on getting updates made. I'm still about 3 months behind, though. I'm up to September 18th, and will be trying to make more updates over the next few weeks. Mark Post

Updates to linuxvm.org
The linuxvm.org web site has been updated through September 1st, 2002. Only two months behind now! Yay! :( Mark Post
Distribution List Updates on linuxvm.org
Now that Debian has been GA for a while, I finally generated a list of all the software packages that are available with it. Thanks to Stefan Gybas for pointing me to what I needed to start with. The list is quite large, 8,000+ .deb files, so the web page is also quite large, 4MB+. Since I was in there updating things anyway, I also went through and updated the entry for Red Hat to show the contents of their GA release, and not the RC2 that had been there up until now. I copied the updated Red Hat information into the consolidated list (1.3MB) as well. I did _not_ add the Debian information into the consolidated list, since that is already 4 times larger. http://linuxvm.org/Info/packages.html Mark Post
More Updates to linuxvm.org
I've made more updates to linuxvm.org. I'm caught up through July 19th. Of special note this time is Jim Sibley's contribution of a write-up on compression on RVA devices with Linux/390. Mark Post
More Updates to linuxvm.org
I've worked my way up to July 10. Of particular note are - the md5sums for 6 of the IBM Directory Server downloads - Daniel Jarboe's links to the FrontPage Server Extensions for Linux/390 - Michael Coffin's NETSETUP.REXX script - Jim Sibley's Reba file system benchmark package (also added to patches page) - Jim Sibley's LVM sample scripts (also added to HOWTO page) Mark Post
Updates to linuxvm.org site
I was finally able to make a few updates to linuxvm.org. I'm only up to June 20, so it's still almost a month behind. I'm going to try to work on it a little at a time over the next week. Mark Post
Updates to linuxvm.org
I've updated the web site through June 3rd. Included are all the May entries copied to the archives, Neale's quiescent patch, and the map to the secret Boblingen meeting place. :) Mark Post
Updates to linuxvm.org
I've made a bunch of updates to linuxvm.org. I'm just about up to April 15th now. There's lots of good stuff there in case you missed it the first time around. Mark Post
Updates to linuxvm.org
I have updated the main page of linuxvm.org. I've added a link to the unabridged version of the original Linux for S/390 Redbook. Thanks to Giorgio Bellussi for agreeing to host it for us. I've also updated the pointers to the SuSE beta code to match what Dieter Heussner of SuSE reported today as being the correct location. Mark Post
Re: Updates to linuxvm.org
Mark, I think the problem is this: The URL is wrapping and some e-mail programs are breaking the link. More Updates to linuxvm.org
I managed to make some more updates to linuxvm.org. Now I'm only 24 days behind. :( I added a few more Community Members, a link to the SuSE SLES7 Beta download on the left menu, and a number of postings of interest from the mailing list. I got a notification that the link to segfault.org under the humor category was broken. It appears that the name isn't getting any name resolution. If anyone knows the status of the site, please let me know, otherwise I'll probably remove it from the page soon. Mark Post
