Re: VM User (LINUX) is dropped while tar command is executed
Hi Pedro We also had some problems with tar backups to tape that resulted in a kernel panic. We had the problem in SLES9 and in SLES10 SP2. I think it was finally resolved in SLES10 SP2 starting from kernel update 2.6.16.60-0.34 if my memory serves me right. Re: VM User (LINUX) is dropped while tar command is executed
Hi Pedro, It would be helpful to have the guest console output. There you probably can see the stack backtrace for the problem. A few z/VM fixes as well. You might want to consider applying some maintenance. VM User (LINUX) is dropped while tar command is executed
Friend, I have SUSE SLES10 and z/VM 5.2, sometimes when execute script back (see above), the linux user is dropped. (HCPGIR450W CP entered; disabled wait PSW 00020001 8000 00104E14). This problem is intermittent. Do you know any patch to resolve this problem?
