It saves me 40 spams a day. It also encourages the admin of sites that are
a problem to fix them. Also orbs blocks specific hosts only. They dont block
a domain because of a single host

doa.org administrivia

1999-07-20 Thread David Murn

Hi all,
At 10:32am GMT, 18th July 1999, a host on the domain shared by
doa.org was entered into the ORBS database. As a result, some users have
had mail bounce from the developers mailing list. Any mail address which
bounces to this list with an error such as the ORBS error, or a 'user does
not exist' error will be removed from the mailing list.

This is what happens when you use automatic mail rejection, it saves you 1
spam a day and sends me 10 bounces a day.

I know, I stuck a rocket up him yesterday, hopefully that will be fixed
today. I've got a feeling he changed machines recently and hasn't setup
the virtual host stuff properly yet. Simon?

Just a quick note to let everyone know that doa.org has returned, so
elks.doa.org now works again for CVS and web. Also, the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
kernel mailing list is now back online.

As a latest update...

doa.org is co-located at a public high-school. Long story short, their
access wasn't paid for 2 years, and so they got cut off. They were not
aware of the fact the payment was not being made. They've decided to
leave the old ISP, and are moving to another ISP, with a larger pipe to
the internet. There isn't an ETA at the moment, however it should be done
RSN, as there is money being lost by the school while this is down.

The CVS server is still reachable as "oo.ms" or "dyndr.ea.ms", or it's IP
address is 194.134.136.157. doa.org should be up soon (we're talking a
matter of days, hopefully).

doa.org down for a little bit

1999-06-19 Thread Anonymous

As some of you may have noticed, the doa.org domain is unreachable. This
means that both the kernel development list, and the CVS server are
unreachable. Both of these services will be unreachable until further
notice. (ie. when the ISP fixes it)

Sorry for any inconvenience.
