[LAD] Re: Linux Audio Conference (is back) 2025
So has open source become free as in 'free beer' ? What a wonderful news! About a new edition of LAC being announced I mean :-) ... Looking forward already! Belgian beers are more my "go-to". 😁 France has some awesome beers too, if you're into Belgian beers I can recommend Bière de Garde style beers from Anosteké (the Prestige), La Choulette (amber or blonde, but the amber is nicer imo), Jenlain (blonde, the amber is less nice) or a good Goudale (Grand Cru, Septante 5). Close to that there is also 3 Monts, with the typical cork. And there are some great craft breweries too that some chains stock, like La Débauche (Intermarché), Sainte Cru (Super U) and BAPBAP (Lidl). One advice: be careful with beers that are being advertized as "bières artisinales". Since I've been keeping notes of all the beers I've had the bières artisinales were pretty much all emmm, bas de gamme. Ok, another advice, run if you see any big brewery crap (Kronenbourg, Pelforth, Fischer). I couldn't agree more with what Rui, Albert and Will said... despite all the misfortune they had, the LAC team in Berlin did an awesome job! A big thank you! Hi all, here are some pictures of the LAC 2011 and because I had an extra day to get around Maynooth, the university (NUIM) and beyond, there are some non-LAC pictures as well. Frank will probably put more pictures on the LAC-2011 website but in the meantime this already gives you an impression: http://www.flickr.com/photos/marcdinkum/sets Feel free to add comments. Patrick Shirkey wrote: ... Wanda da Bizzarre Bunny Rocks Very heavy dynamics they are achieving. How were the ears after that set? [LAD] LAC 2010 program is online !
Hello everyone, this won't be a surprise to most of you, as you're all checking the LAC website twice a day for updates, but for the others: the program is now available and can be viewed in various ways: list, abstracts, printable holistic view and there's even an iCal export ! A big thumbs-up to Robin Gareus for making this very slick web frontend for my database to make all this possible. http://lac.linuxaudio.org/2010/?page=program As you can see it's very well filled with activities throughout every day and on three evenings in several locations and with a wide variety of subjects. It's been a less than trivial operation to piece it all together but the conference promises to be very interesting. In case last-minute changes occur, the website will be updated immediately so always check the site for the latest information. Let's hope the cloud of volcanic ash gets blown away soon. We're looking forward to seeing you in Utrecht ! [LAD] The LAC Times Edition #2
Hi everyone, got nothing to do during the Easter holidays ? I don't think so... The second edition of The LAC Times is online: http://lac.linuxaudio.org/2010/LAC_Times_2010_04_02.pdf Subjects in this edition: * A first glimpse of the LAC 2010 programme * The 150-Years-of-Music-Technology Composition Competition * A short history of recording sound [part 2] No longer do you need to worry what to do at Easter. Now you'll worry what to do first: study the programme to decide which day(s) you're gonna visit the Linux Audio Conference, work on your composition or read Than's second history lesson. Enjoy ! Marc I'll put a printer-friendly version under the News tab of the LAC site soon. ___ Linux-audio-dev mailing list Linux-audio-dev@lists.linuxaudio.org http://lists.linuxaudio.org/listinfo/linux-audio-dev
