Hello Wouter,

Guess Krysztof should be reachable via the Calf project:
http://calf-studio-gear.org/
And actually Holborn is a nick of Josep Andreu who also worked on Rakarrack.

[LAD] The authors of Horgand

2015-09-05 Thread W.Boeke

Hi Ralf, thanks for the info.

So Ubuntu uses Horgand version 1.14, not the recent version 1.15. Also, I found
some more buffer overflows.

However my main problem remains: I would like to find those authors. Their
email adresses in the README alas don't work.

If there should be any patches, they would be available by the source
package.

Start with a Debian tracker search:

https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/horgand

It provides the Link to the Ubuntu source package:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/horgand

One patch inside the Ubuntu source package is named
"03-buffer_overflow.patch".

Did you compare with sourceforge?

[LAD] The authors of Horgand

2015-09-05 Thread W.Boeke

Hi,

I am trying to contact the authors of Horgand, who are Nick Holborn and Krzysztof Foltman. The reason is that Horgand is an organ with an exceptional beautyful sound that uses an algorithm that is
nowhere described in books etc. They call it FM synthesis but it is'nt.

Another reason: there are some bugs in their code (version 1.15) that cause an immedient crash if one compiles the program from source code, whereas if installed directly from the Ubuntu repository it
works correctly. So the code base used by Ubuntu must be different from the source code at Github. The reasons of the crash are some buffer overflows, easily found using valgrind.

Does somebody know where I can find these guys? My own email address is:
w dot boeke at upcmail dot nl.
