Yup the LADSPA code comes form the ecasound version of the origninal
Dyson. I dont recommend if for study though, its unusually cryptic.

There are some native LADSPA compressors (SCn) that are easier to follow.

But for beginning i'm looking also for simple physical formulas  
for gain calculation .

Is it RMS  Gain (%) = sqrt (  sum 1..n ( sample[i]^2 )  )  /  MAX_SINE_RMS
or  Gain (%) =  sum 1..n  abs( sample[i] ) /  MAX_SINE_AREA
or something else 

sorre im newbie in sound/DSP programing
