[linux-dvb] support for WinFast DTV1800 H

2007-05-27 Thread Jon Burgess

Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone else has had any experience trying to get the
WinFast DTV1800 H card to work? Or has any advice on how to do so?

I'm happy to have a go at implementing support for this card (hopefully in
some ways it is fairly similar to the DTV1000, although it has analogue
tuners too...), but could do with some pointers of where to start.

Cheers,
Jono

Some info about the card (please ask if there is some other info I can get)

If the source of information is reliable, this means that at least some
samples of it are successfully tested, I think it's okay to do so. It is
quite hard to find testers for every single transmitter so we have to rely on
third party information.

[linux-dvb] change channel language with zapdvb?

2007-05-27 Thread Louis-David Mitterrand
Hi,

I'm a happy user of zapdvb in client/server mode (one laptop connected
to a Cinergy T² DVB-T receiver and another roaming around the house
receiving through wifi).

The only problem I have is to change the channel language. For instance
on ARTE most movies are broadcast in french, german or subtitled
versions, but I only get the french version. I tried changing audio
track from within mplayer to no avail.

Has someone found a solution?

[linux-dvb] Af9005 driver: remote control not initialised on driver load

2007-05-27 Thread Stanislav Nikolov
Hello,

I think there is a small problem in the af9005 driver implementation. When the
driver is initialised, it is registered with the fields for the remote
control empty. This doesn't allow for the remote control driver to be
initialised. So, in order to use the remote, one has to manually remove and
reinsert the stick, then the remote control works. It also doesn't work if
one boots the system with the usb stick in.

One possible fix is to reorder the initialisation to first check the
availability of the remote control kernel module, fill in the corresponding
fields and then register the driver. It seems to work here, but I am not
aware of the possible side-effects.

Anyway, I hope this report is helpful and the issue will get fixed. :)

Best wishes,
Stanislav NIkolov

That's strange, since the remote decoding functions are loaded with
symbol_request in module_init, so what you're seeing shouldn't happen.
I think a kernel guru could tell me if the initialization is wrong and
suggest how to correct it in that case:

static int __init af9005_usb_module_init(void)
{
int result;
if ((result = usb_register(&af9005_usb_driver))) {
err("usb_register failed. (%d)", result);
return result;
}
rc_decode = symbol_request(af9005_rc_decode);
rc_keys = symbol_request(af9005_rc_keys);
rc_keys_size = symbol_request(af9005_rc_keys_size);
if (rc_decode == NULL || rc_keys == NULL || rc_keys_size == NULL) {
err("af9005_rc_decode function not found, disabling
remote");

af9005_properties.rc_query = NULL;
} else {
af9005_properties.rc_key_map = rc_keys;
af9005_properties.rc_key_map_size = *rc_keys_size;
}

return 0;
}

[linux-dvb] avermedia e506r mixed success

2007-05-27 Thread mimo
Hi

I have had some success and failure with this card - it identifies as
1131:7133 using latest mercurial stuff.
I have added
options saa7134 card=117 alsa=1
install saa7134 /sbin/modprobe xc3028-tuner; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install
saa7134; /sbin/modprobe saa7134-dvb; /sbin/modprobe saa7134-alsa

Using firmware_pinnacle.tgz the whole analog part of the card works (kernel
2.6.20-lowlatency from ubuntu).

Below is my dmsg. The audio works with the sox workaround. DVB-T doesn't. I
also tried card=85
(http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2006-May/010246.html) but that
reported problems.

What are the chances of getting dvb-t working and can I help in some way?

Thanks,

mm

the chances are 50:50, I guess there are just some very small changes
missing to get DVB-T work properly. Since I do not have that device I
cannot do anything and someone else has to figure out the outstanding
part.

Maybe someone who owns that device in Berlin/Leipzig/(Dresden would be
fine in around 1 month when they start to broadcast DVB-T) can contact
me
I cannot guarantee that I can get it work, chances aren't too bad
since I got analogue TV (including audio) and radio already work.

[linux-dvb] Twinhan 1034 CI problems

2007-05-27 Thread Mark Anderson
Hi Folks

I am trying to get my Twinhan 1034 CI working. I am using the binary
driver downloaded from Twinhan (AZLinux_v1.4.2_CI_FC6). I run szap,
and then zap, as per the instructions but the kernel hangs with:

BUG: spinlock lockup on CPU#0, zap 3773...

the stack trace shows it is in DRV_ioctl [mantis_ci] before calling
_raw_spin_lock

Has anyone got the Twinhan 1034 working with the CI and these drivers?
Does anyone know if Twinhan plan to relase the source for the CI
driver? (At least then I'd have a chance of fixing the issue)

(PS: I posted this messge yesterday but it never came though, I hope I
haven't duplicated the message)

Thanks for your help
Mark.

Here is the output from szap and zap.

Re: [linux-dvb] support for WinFast DTV1800 H

2007-05-27 Thread Jon Burgess

Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone else has had any experience trying to get
the WinFast DTV1800 H card to work? Or has any advice on how to do so?

I'm happy to have a go at implementing support for this card (hopefully in
some ways it is fairly similar to the DTV1000, although it has analogue
tuners too...), but could do with some pointers of where to start.

Cheers,
Jono

Some info about the card (please ask if there is some other info I can
get) -

I have perhaps got a little further, see my additions to dvb source ("hg
diff") below, and corresponding "/var/log/messages" after "make install" and
reboot... maybe someone can help me from here?

A question I have is: do the "inputs" in the code below correspond to
physical inputs on the back of the card? The names suggest this, but maybe
I'm wrong...

I'm not sure about the tuner type either - it was just a guess, based on the
fact that the tuner must be able to decode analogue and digital signals,
since the card supports both.

Cheers,
Jono

[linux-dvb] CI problems with TT-1500

2007-05-27 Thread Simon Baxter
Hi.

A few weeks back I started some threads about my TT-1500C, CI and Irdeto
CAM. I suspected faulty hardware, so have been working under Windows to
test it.

I've now confirmed some transponders and PIDS which definitely work with
my combination.

Here's a summary of my Linux problems:

1. Can't access the CAM menu (get a "en50221_tl_poll: CAWrite failed" and
"en50221_stdcam_llci_poll: Error reported by stack:-2")

2. The card loads fine (get "kernel: dvb_ca adapter 0: DVB CAM detected
and initialised successfully" in dmesg)

3. VDR reports errors ("vdr: [2774] ERROR: can't write to CI adapter on
device 0: Input/output error")

I'm looking for some tools which will let me capture a TS (or anything
from the card). I was looking at dvbsnoop and dvbstream, but am I right
thinking these will only produce something once the CI has decoded the
stream through the CAM?

What other tools are available to manually test? Are there debug options
I can add to the "modprobe"? Anything else?

Any help greatly appreciated!!

Simon
