[linux-dvb] haupauge hova-s plus tuning seems to be broken
Hi list, I have recently switched back to linux and tried to get my tv-card working again. It used to work one and a half year ago with the linux-tv Mercurial version of the drivers so i thought i give it a shot, it seems its integrated in my kernel as well now. (but that doesn't work ether, same problem) problem is the card won't tune to any station: # dvbtune -f 12551500 -p V -s 2200 Using DVB card "Conexant CX24123/CX24109" tuning DVB-S to L-Band:134515695, Pol:V Srate=525163520, 22kHz=off polling Getting frontend event Overflow error, trying again (status = -1, errno = 75)FE_STATUS: polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_CARRIER polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_CARRIER polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_CARRIER polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_CARRIER FE_HAS_VITERBI polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_CARRIER polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL polling Getting frontend event FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_CARRIER polling (and the list goes on like this) seems to me it just can get a lock. maybe i'm forgetting something obvious ? Thanks Manu! I've added the following to modprobe.conf options dvb_core dvb_shutdown_timeout=0 dvb_powerdown_on_sleep=0 And tuning is now perfectly persistent. On a DVB-related note, I also have the TT-3200, which you apparently have been working on getting working with linux-dvb. Is there any further progress? [linux-dvb] Nova-HD-S2 (WINTV-HVR4000)
Dear list, using Steve Toths driver and the latest patches (stoth-11.diff) I can get my Nova-HD-S2 running fine in DVB-S1 mode. Obviously, I also can tune to a DVB-S2 channel (has lock) such as Pro7HD. However, a cat /dev/dvb/adapter1/dvr0 does not deliver any information. Tuning to a DVB-S1 channel, I can record the TS to harddisk using the above command. My question is: Which part of DVB-S2 using that card is working? Is it only the tuner (szap tells me it has got a lock), is demodulator support missing, or am I simply doing something wrong? I am using opensuse 10.2 (kernel version 2.6.18.8). Thanks for any help. Facts are: your patches would have been merged already if you would have been more cooperative YOU missed all offers, like mine, or the one johannes did. you just complain about all those bad people in the linux dvb community you send cc's to your very own em28xx ml, and if someone does a normal "reply all" you blame him to spam your ml sorry markus, but you dont have to call others like "buttlicker" while not being able to look into a mirror. imho, i dont care what you do, but if you want to perform everything on your own as YOU said, please start over, and take away EVERYTHING! even these bloody damned discussions on the linuxdvb ml. and, dont start to cry if someone will take your "old" GPL'ed code, as a base to implement the devices in a acceptable way, and therefore will make your very own project/split off obsolete. without regards marcel ___ linux-dvb mailing list linux-dvb@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb

I'm currently using Steven's drivers with a 2.6.18 kernel (not smp though) and they have been working well with DVB-S for many months now. I can't try DVB-T as I can't get it where I am. It might be worth trying to update your kernel and get Steven's drivers working. Although I don't think they currently work with anything later than 2.6.18 due to some changes in the kernel :-( Hope this helps, Robert. ___ linux-dvb mailing list linux-dvb@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb

[linux-dvb] new bee question
Tell me, please, why this project implements tuner and demodulator in kernel space? May be new v4l2 in user space should cause tuner and demodulator user space libraries also? Same could be told about LNB device. So, while all those devices managed through I2C, this is the point where kernel space begins. I am standing before vxworks code, which should be ported to linux. -- Free pop3 email with a spam filter. http://www.bluebottle.com/tag/5 ___ linux-dvb mailing list linux-dvb@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb
