[linux-dvb] mantis driver development

2007-05-06 Thread Gernot Pansy
hy,

one quick question. does anybody know how is developing the digitalrise
(twinhan) mantis driver ?

there are 2 snapshots available:
http://www.digitalrise.biz/support/downloads/index.php?action=file&id=186
(newer with VP-1041 support)
&
http://www.jusst.de/manu/mantis-v4l-dvb.tar.bz2

are these 2 diffrent projects or is manu developing for digitalrise
(twinhan) ?

regards,
gernot

hy,

is there a updated mantis snapshot available that is compatible with the
multiproto hg tree?

i'd like to see my VP-1041 tunning faster (not 35 seconds)...

thx,

[linux-dvb] mantis branch on jusst.de - vp1034 can't tune to vertical channels

2007-10-14 Thread Gernot Pansy

hy,

i got trough warranty issues for my old vp1030 a new vp1034. i tried this card
now with this branch but the card can only tune to vertical channels
(horizontal are working in less than a second).

zapping to 5 'Pro7':
sat 0, frequency = 12051 MHz V, symbolrate 2750, vpid = 0x00a1, apid =
0x0054
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'

attached is my dmesg output.

in the same situation the vp1041 has no troubles to tune.

thank you, the patch is working for me.

the time from starting initalizaiton until i get a lock is about ~400msec.

there have to be a signal, because i never had any troubles to tune to one of
these channel with the vp1030 and vp1041.

i have to verify, but it seems that these channels have all a low symbol rate.

hy,

pherhaps you like to try this patch against the current multiproto branch on
http://jusst.de/hg/multiproto/.

http://pansy.at/gernot/twinhan-vp1041.diff.gz

it's working much better for me. also it compiles with recent kernels.

gernot

p.s.:

if you want to test it mythtv, youd could try this hack against current svn:

Twinhan VP-1041 support is now in the mantis tree (inkl. multiproto)

hg clone http://jusst.de/hg/mantis

but for me, the old initialization parameters works much better. with the new
ones i get only a destructed picture (unwatchable).

Re: [linux-dvb] Help with Skystar HD2 (Twinhan VP-1041/Azurewave AD SP400 rebadge)

2008-02-18 Thread Gernot Pansy

hy,

have you tried some other channel on a diffrent multiplex?

i have also troubles on 2 multiplexes, but i believe that's trough my bad
signal strength (it's the same on windows).

otherwise there have to be some initialization registers configured
differently. manu is the only guy, how knows about that and can help you.
