discover uses a wacky path structure to allow users to specify
exactly what they want returned. For example, you can distinguish 2.4
kernel drivers from 2.6 series drivers using this path. It so happens that
the path above will find all the XFree86 modules discover knows about.

This is possible but it will take some work (and I have never done
it). If libdiscover2 is installed you can read the guide at
/usr/share/doc/discover/guide.html

If you can identify the machines with Nvidia cards some other way
it may be best to define an NVIDIA class, and then manually set the
videodrv variable in NVIDIA.var .

Congratulations!

Let me guess: you're using a WD8003 network adapter? ;-)

I'll try 486DX2 128MB soon... but I'll get a decent i/f card before
to replace the NE2000 that's in there now :)

Cheers,
 Steffen

New record!

FAI installation completed sucessfully after 22 hours :-).
 468DX2, 8MB

FAI Installation on the 8MB systems worked with enabling swap in class/00swap
and "sfdisk=-f" in class/8MB.var.

   Ciao'

NVIDIA - discover display

2004-11-17 Thread Emmanuel.Leguy
Hello,
My fai client has a NVIDIA GeForce4 and the fai installation does not
detect it. In fact, the 06hwdetect.source script uses "discover" which
cannot detect nvidia cards. 'discover' is run like this:

discover --data-path=xfree86/server/device/driver display
What is 'xfree86/server/device/driver' path?
Can i add nvidia to the drivers list? How?
Thanx,
Manu.
