Because they fixed so MANY holes, it isn't practical.

Jobs in Aduva

2000-06-13 Thread Ury Segal

Hi all

First, I am sorry about the cross-post in IGLU and linux-il, but
AFAIK this issue isn't resolved.

Aduva/LinuxQA is looking for more core Linux people. If you
know how to install XFree 4, you are probably qualified. The
work is Linux-only and with Linux Loving people. Full ( or
almost full ) time only, work in the office in Tel Aviv area.

Plus, a benefit of a personal fur Penguin puppy.

If you are interested

OT:

One of our employee gave the Penguin puppy to her kid, who
is ever since attached ot it. He takes it with him to hid
kindergarten, tells all the kids his name is "Linux" and
he is a good boy.
I think this is the kind of things we need to do to make
linux more popular. ;-)

Help :Connectin to IMAP server refused

2000-06-13 Thread Lev Olshvang

Hello everybody !

I have just installed Linux Mandrake 7.0 on PC. This PC run WIN-NT and
had connection to Internet and our IMAP server.

I use exactly the same IP address the PC had before.

I can make a ping to IMAP server and I can open telnet session to
imap port 143 on IMAP server from any computer in my disposa, except for
Linux machine.

Traceroute shows exactly the same path for any machine, including this
Linux station, so I believe that my connection request goes exactly the
same way for all machines.

What to do ?

Regards.
Lev

This seems like a routing problem make sure that the result of route on NT
and /sbin/route on LINUX is the same.

If not, man route on how to change it.

Send over the network configuration. Check if your Linux acts as a router

Hmm... knowing how to type "sh Xinstall.sh" makes you a qualified "core
Linux" person?

[etc.]

What isn't practical, sending CC of CVS diff fixing the hole to
maintainer of the tool? Or to bugtrack? Or publishing it on some page?

cannot open line /dev/ttys0: input/output error

2000-06-13 Thread hagit

We used to connect to modem by typing
mgetty on server.
Now we replaced the server to a new
computer. We took the disk, modem, etc.
Since then the modem does not respond to
incoming calls.
 We get the massage:
cannot open line /dev/ttys0:
input/output error

Thank you for
helping.
