"The New Breed of Version Control Systems"

2004-02-01 Thread Shlomi Fish

Well, ONLamp.com published an article I wrote with an overview of some
accessible open source version control systems:

http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2004/01/29/scm_overview.html

As version control and Software Configuration Management was previously
discussed here, I think it would interest you. Also refer to:

Writing a BitKeeper replacement is probably easier at this point than getting
its license changed.

In my final concluding statement I said that a translated installer could be
nice. I never said it'll be totally useless. On the contrary, i would be
happy if we had it. I also have plans to create remastered version for some
Debian installation ISOs with all necessary packages for a Israeli/Hebrew
user and maybe a little script that will set up all the Hebrew configuration
as an installable option for people who liked Kazit (kazit.berlios.de). I was
looking for a friendly installation process and considered PGI
(http://hackers.progeny.com/pgi/) for a while, but right now it doesn't have
i18n support, yet. I was looking for some other solutions and maybe the
Debian installer could become a nice option for it.

The last time I used an official Debian installation was 2-1.5 years ago when
i installed my own system at home from a "woody" ISO(and never had to touch
it ever since:) ). So forgive me if i said something stupid about the
friendliness of the new installer. I didn't even try it yet.

Well, in Israel, right now, the government and educational system are only
using linux and openoffice to get better deals from M$ and that gets me very
pissed off

Re: Mozilla and External Mail Client

2004-02-01 Thread Shlomo Solomon
I've also been looking for something like this. But, after installing and
setting up preferences exactly as explained on the site, it doesn't work for
me. The mozex plugin is installed and there's a new preference item and I
also see a new mozex entry on the right-click menu. But when I click (or
right-click) on a mailto: link, kmail doesn't get started. If anyone has this
working, I'd appreciate some help.

MDK9.2 Mozilla 1.4.
