I don't remember the details, e.g., whether it is 100/day or something like that, but I remember running into the limitation in the past. Nor do I remember if it manifested itself as a login limit, but I suppose it might since you authenticate when sending mails. If you have some cron job or monitoring system or something else that sends mails and that could have exceeded their limit (check logs?), I'd suggest you look up their documentation and/or contact their support. Does anyone know how to solve "Too many login attempts" with smtp.gmail.com?
Hi , As of last night, I'm no longer able to use smtp.gmail.com. I tried shutting all processes down and waiting for a few hours. I have verified that use less secure apps is enabled. I have no problem accessing the box using IMAP or usng the xmpp interface. I assumed that maybe my problem was triggered by a faulty client (I'm using KMail 4.14.10), so I tried to do a manual login which also failed (doing base64 encode for u...@gmail.com and password). $openssl s_client -crlf -connect smtp.gmail.com:465 220 smtp.gmail.com ESMTP c187sm26581499wme.16 - gsmtp EHLO c187sm26581499wme.16 250-smtp.gmail.com at your service, [93.184.216.34] 250-SIZE 35882577 250-8BITMIME 250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN XOAUTH2 PLAIN-CLIENTTOKEN OAUTHBEARER XOAUTH 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES 250-PIPELINING 250-CHUNKING 250 SMTPUTF8 AUTH LOGIN 334 VXNlcm5hbWU6 dXNlckBnbWFpbC5jb20K 334 UGFzc3dvcmQ6 c2VjcmV0cGFzc3dvcmR0aGF0d29ya3dpdGhJTUFQCg 454 4.7.0 Too many login attempts, please try again later. c187sm26581499wme.16 - gsmtp read:errno=0 Does anyone know how to solve this issue ? ___ Linux-il mailing list Linux-il@cs.huji.ac.il http://mailman.cs.huji.ac.il/mailman/listinfo/linux-il
