I did this for years until I broke down and paid the $16 for a year of avoiding these. If you have your own domain, you can manage it using CloudFlare and use there API https://www.cloudflare.com/docs/client-api.html to edit the zone https://www.cloudflare.com/docs/client-api.html#s5.2 file and update the IP address each time it change. -- Rabin On Sun, Nov 9, 2014 at 10:29 AM, Erez D erez0...@gmail.com wrote: hi i am currently using no-ip.org as a free dynamic dns server for my home. however it has the annoying feature of sending me the following emails: Please confirm your hostname now or it will be deleted anyone knows of a good free dyndns server ? ___ Linux-il mailing list Linux-il@cs.huji.ac.il http://mailman.cs.huji.ac.il/mailman/listinfo/linux-il ___ Linux-il mailing list Linux-il@cs.huji.ac.il http://mailman.cs.huji.ac.il/mailman/listinfo/linux-il

Dynamic DNS
Hi! Have any of you encountered a strange problem configuring dynamic dns on Red-Hat 7.3 ? I have installed Bind 9.2.0 (from rh cd) and dhcpd 3.0pl1 (from osc.org) and configured it exactly (copied the files) as on my other machine and it gives me: unauthorized lines when it tries to update the dns. Anyone has any ideas why ? P.S I tried using a key in bind and dhcpd, tried without, tried with sausages, nothing! --- Oleg Kobets Network Administrator Breakthrough LTD. 054-747132 03-6349922 Ext 26 Black hole is God divided by zero = To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I don't see how will that help you as there's no differance between a "real" hostname and a dynamic one. Most dynamic IP users that look for more "Power" look usually for the ability to controll the reverse lookup and that will still show their ISP's client hostname. =---= Nimrod Simba Carmi, School Sucks http://www.schoolsucks.com http://www.schoolsucks.co.il Phone: +972-5423-9910 Fax: +972-6651-5473 "...
