the mobo might need some quirk i'm not aware off.

Since we do not have any other such report yet, knock on wood, I would
expect all other hardware is still fine.

Cheers,
Hermann

Hi Hermann! Thank you for your quick response. I tested the card on a M2N-VM
DH and it works. So my best guess is that the card does not work on my actual
motherboard.

Do you have a suggestion for a new mobo that you know is working (if I can keep
my other hardware that would be great)?

Thank you very mutch for your time,
Fabio

Hi Fabio,

I would try to test the HVR1110 next on another PC with known working
PCI hardware, also above different operating systems if possible.

We know that the HVR1110s are properly detected on almost all hardware.
Before thinking about replacing mobo/PSU, make sure the card is OK.

Cheers,
Hermann

...just to add to Hermann's advice:

There are two possible cards that could be found in the HVR1110 retail box.

1) the actual HVR1110

2) the newer HVR1120

They are basically the same in functionality. The HVR1110 uses a
TDA8275a+TDA10046, where the HVR1120 uses a TDA18271+TDA10048

So, if the HVR1110 configuration doesn't work for you, try the HVR1120

As Hermann mentioned, you will need the latest v4l-dvb from mercurial
in order to support it, if you actually have the newer card.

Also, for reference, the HVR1120 *used to* be called HVR1110r3 - I
changed its name in the Linux driver once the product was officially
released.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Mike

Memory allocation at the PCI bus fails and PCI latency is very high for
nothing in the end.

Either the eeprom is corrupted, or more likely, this fails because of
the previous failing.

We have some unknowns on the various Hauppauge 1110s, but in general
they are assumed to be well supported.

They are all auto eeprom detectable and only for latest revisions you
need some latest mercurial v4l-dvb. These look good now too.

Could you try again with the HVR1110 as the only PCI card?

If this still fails, the mobo seems not to be best treated anyway too, I
would guess the card is broken.

Cheers,
Hermann

2009-10-08 Thread fabio tirapelle
Hi

I have installed mythtv on this configuration:
Asus M3N78-VM GF8200 RGVSM
AMD Ath64 X2LV 3100BOX6000+ 1MB
Haupp. WinTV HVR-1100 -t/a PCI
TechniSat SkyStar 2 DVB-S PCI
nVidia GeForce 8200
Ubuntu 8.10 - Linux htpc 2.6.27-11-generic

Two questions

1) But the Haupp. WinTV will not be found even if I have followed
http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-1110
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=623126&page=2 (#12)

2) What kind of DVB-T card will you suggest for my configuration instead of

Thanks for help
