2007-03-08 Thread Ruthard Baudach
I'd like to use dosemu 1.3.4 SVN from 6.2.2007 to run a proprietary
medical program on an AMD64. dosemu compiles and installs. Freedos works
great. My program crashes. It runs perfectly well under the same SVN
Version compiled and installed on a mobielSempron. dosemu -D+a produces 11
MByte output I cannot use. Has anyone an idea except to wait an hope that
sometimes an SVN-checkout will solve the problem?

I'm running Suse 10.1 on both Computers.

I'm trying to install dosemu-1.2.2, but I'm having trouble.

Make install is not installing or creating the symlink for kernel.sys
or command.com. I'm doing a standard install. I have the latest
dosemu-freedos-b9r5-sources.tgz in the source directory as
dosemu-freedos-bin.tgz. I've removed all traces of my previous dosemu
(1.2.0), the build seems to be going OK but when I run dosemu or xdosemu
I get an error message stating that no operating system was found. I've
looked for kernel.sys and command.com but I cannot find them anywhere on
 my system.

Can someone please tell me what I've missed?

Copy the file dosemu-freedos-bin.tgz from the source directory
to /usr/local/share/dosemu. Kill the directories ~/.dosemu and ~/dosemu in
your home directory and try again. Dosemu and Xdosemu will now install
freedos with kernel.sys etc. in ~/dosemu/freedos/.

Claudia,
Thanks for the reply. I solved the problem last night. I didn't realize
that there are two different dosemu-freedos*.tgz packages at dosemu.org.
I had downloaded the first one I came across and that was the problem.
It did not include kernel.sys or command.com and in fact, it looked like
source for building on Windows platforms, not Linux. It was on the same
page as the download like for dosemu-1.2.2. When I went to the bottom
of the page I found a second package and it was complete and it worked
great.

Thanks again,
Rick Knight

2004-03-11 Thread Flávio Eler de Melo
Hello.

I've got a problem that is aparently simple to solve, but I've been working
on it for one month and I couldn't do it yet.
I have a samba and nfs server running under a Slackware 9.1 dist. It serves
a Clipper database for two clients with RedHat 7.3 installed on them and one
client running Win98. In those Linux-based clients I set up the Clipper
application under Dosemu-1.2.0 with FreeDos, and by mounting the database
directory from the server to a local hdimage directory (either via nfs or
samba), I allowed them to access the referred database. I seemed to work
perfectly til I tried to include some records from the Linux-based clients
subsequently. When I include a single record in the database from a Linux
client and search for it, it seems ok. When I include a record from a Linux
client and afterwards I include other record from the Win98 (MSDOS) both
records are correctly added, with their correspondent index right. In the
same way, when I firstly include a record from Win98 and secondly include
another record from a Linux client, again all ok.
But when I include a record from a Linux client and afterwards I try to
include another record from the other Linux client, the last one is
duplicated and the former one disappears.
The permissions in database files and directories are set up as 777 (chmod
-R /database_directory 777). Could this be a problem of bash umask? Or a
problem of Dosemu?

Please help! Thank you!

Flávio

Does anybody have an hdimage file with MSDOS6.x

I'd make it myself, but I don't have a floppy drive on

2002-07-16 Thread Albert Cervera Areny

Hi,
Where I work, the use I program under MS-DOS, which runs perfect with
dosemu. It uses no graphics only colors under character mode. The
problem is that I have to automate some processes and want to use
expect. But when I run dosemu -dumb and start the program it shows
nothing and I have to ctrl+c to stop it. Any Ideas? It doesn't matter if I can't
run it with the -dumb option as
far as I can automate the proces maybe try to get a version of
  expect under dos?
Thanks in advance!
