Re: [Linux-PowerEdge] Debian DLR packages was OMSA 8.3 for Ubuntu lacks racadm tools

2016-05-11 Thread Jean-Daniel TISSOT
Hi Chandra,

Thanks, I had found all I need for OMSA 8.3 and it works for me.
But where can I find DLR package to have update_firmware command available ?

I explore repository without found any packages related to DLR.
Are they in
http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/debian/pool/jessie/openmanage/830/OMSA/suppl/
 ?

Regards,
Jean-Daniel.

[Linux-PowerEdge] Missing description in package dell-ie-idrac7

2016-05-11 Thread Jean-Daniel TISSOT
Hi Dell packagers,

On Debian, I have a not very important issue but which can be certainly
corrected by packagers :
warning: parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 16730 package
'dell-ie-idrac7': missing description
It's make noise on my output of batch files. Yes, I known that I can use grep
-v but it will be nice that this small problem is corrected.

Regards,
Jean-Daniel

Hi,

The DLR repository is deprecated. Please use DSU repository at
http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/dsu/. The procedure to install/update OMSA
is documented in that page.

Re: [Linux-PowerEdge] Debian DLR packages was OMSA 8.3 for Ubuntu lacks racadm tools

2016-05-11 Thread Jean-Daniel TISSOT
Hi Soorej,

Unfortunately DSU is not yet available for Debian or Ubuntu.
As long as I know, even the docker file is not able to upgrade firmware, but
maybe new version of the DSU container permit that ?
So I need to verify my firmware one a week without stopping my VMs to enter
Life Cycle process.

I have not had more luck. I just stuck with the 740 repo for now until
someone says that the 830 packages have the correct dependencies.

[Linux-PowerEdge] Ubuntu 14.04 PERC H800 not found after omsa 8.3 upgrade

2016-05-11 Thread Francesco Morosinotto
Hello everybody,

I've finally managed to upgrade my OMSA 7.x to the new 8.3 repository
version.
Unfortunately after the upgrade I'm not able to check my storage status
anymore: under "System" -> "Storage" there is an information bubble
saying "No storage controllers detected.".

The controller is a PERC H800 connected to an MD1200 (working at the
moment).

Can anybody point me to the solution of this problem in order to restore
the previous working functionality I had under OMSA 7.4?

thank you a lot

Francesco

[Linux-PowerEdge] Install OMSA in Ubuntu 16.04

2016-05-11 Thread Zhengyu Guo
Hi all,

I am trying to install OMSA on our server, which uses ubuntu 16.04.
However, I didn't find the OMSA support for 16.04.

I am wondering is there a way that I can installed the OMSA for the older
version of ubuntu on ubuntu 16.04? Or is there a tutorial that somehow I
can install the package from scratch?

Thanks

UBUNTU 16.x deb packages have not been compiled yet. It should be available
from OM8.4.

It’s not recommended to use lower version of OMSA on Ubuntu 16.x as it hasn’t
been tried and tested. So, if you use lower version of OMSA on Ubuntu 16.x, it
might or might not work. There is no guarantee on the same.

Thanks
