[Linux-PowerEdge] IPv6 for linux.dell.com

2022-01-20 Thread Anand Buddhdev

Is there anyone from Dell on this list?

We are running several servers that have only IPv6 connectivity.
However, linux.dell.com is only available over IPv4, so we have to
resort to proxy hacks to get Dell software.

Could someone from Dell please inform us when linux.dell.com can be made
available directly over IPv6? It's 2022, and all Internet-facing sites
should be available over IPv6.

Regards,
Anand

They'd need to get it working reliably with IPv4 first.

I'd recommend opening a proper, actual, support call with Dell. This mailing
list seems to tend towards being considered unofficial, as far as I can tell.

Anand,

We've had similar problems with the repo over the years and our solution
was just to create a local mirror. It's not perfect but it's a lot more
reliable, for sure. :-)

cheers,
Klaus
