Re: [Linux-PowerEdge] racadm not working on CentOS 7.2 + idrac8

2016-04-06 Thread Giulio
Thanks! Installing srvadmin-idracadm7 fixed it.

What's confusing to me is that:
- I have an iDRAC8 and to make it work, I understand now, I need to use
srvadmin-idracadm7 (7 instead of 8). I had assumed idracadm7 was for "old" iDRAC
7.
- I had installed srvadmin-all, and I expected to have everything I needed;
however, it seems no packages actually requires srvadmin-idracadm7:

# rpm -q --requires srvadmin-all | grep idrac
srvadmin-idrac = 8.3.0
# rpm -q --requires srvadmin-idrac | grep idrac
srvadmin-idrac-ivmcli
srvadmin-idrac-vmcli
srvadmin-idracadm
# rpm -q --whatrequires srvadmin-idracadm7
no package requires srvadmin-idracadm7
#

Basically, following all the links/wrappers from racadm onward, it seems in the
end
/opt/dell/srvadmin/bin/idracadm7
is working for my iDRAC8, while
/opt/dell/srvadmin/bin/idracadm
is not.

Thanks

[Linux-PowerEdge] racadm not working on CentOS 7.2 + idrac8

2016-04-06 Thread Giulio
PE-T330 with iDRAC8 Express

= PROBLEM
# /opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/racadm getsysinfo

NOTE:
The current version of Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC)
that do not support the execution of RACADM commands.
Contact Dell customer service to upgrade to iDRAC Express or iDRAC Enterprise
The installed version of RACADM client executable that do not match the
generation of the server.
=

I would have expected some kind of output from the racadm command.
Instead, it's telling me to upgrade to iDRAC Express, but I have iDRAC Express,
see below.

Any help?
