Hi, we have MD3000 (connected using two LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1068 PCI-
X Fusion-MPT SAS) also on debian (testing now)...
All multipath.conf's i have found were for redhat or so.
This one works for me, i have to modify paths to *_callout

Thank you for your input so far.

However I'm talking about a MD3000 (without i at the end).

We have no iSCSI. We're using SAS, and this seems to be the root cause of our
problem.

This and Dell's inability to support a sane OS ...

RE: MD3000 on Debian Lenny

2010-02-15 Thread Adrian Schmitz
Dominik,

Below is the config I am using now on one of my Ubuntu Server machines with an
MD3000i.. With this config, the i/o errors usually show up for a little bit
until rdac disables the necessary paths, and then they go away. Failover works
*okay* with this configuration.. if anyone on the list has more experience with
this sort of thing, feedback or recommendations on how to improve this config
are welcome. Hope this helps..

Subject: MD3000 on Debian Lenny

Hi,
I'm trying to get a MD3000 working with Debian Lenny and it looks like a
big mess from my POV. Dell only supports SuSE and RedHat, but I didn't
expect that it'd be so hard to get this up and running on Debian.

Can anyone give me some pointers to get this working? I don't care if I
can use multipath or not. I just want a reliable way to access the disks.

So far I've tryed with the multipath-tools, dm-rdac and porting (kind of)
the dell SM-Tools to Debian, but nothing got me rid of the "I/O errors"
that happen when accessing the exported devices.
