Just a quick note: the US Robotics (3com) Sportster internal PCI
modems work just fine under Linux. I had to use 'setserial' to set
the line discipline (it shows up as a 'Serial Controller' in
/proc/pci) - but no problems thereafter.

Just make sure ya don't get a WinModem.

The USR models #5610, #5611, #5612 and #5613 are *not* winmodems. Most
if not all of the other USR modems are winmodems, though. Be careful
befure you purchase a PCI modem. USR is pretty careful about listing
Windows as a requirement on the outside of the box.

PCI Internal Modems

2000-03-06 Thread Rajiv Ghai

Hello everyone,

Has any one managed to get a PCI internal modem working with LINUX pppd
2-3.11. I have checked the modem compatibility list and haven't found one
listed.

Thanks and Regards

Rajiv
