Hi, I also have a banana pi and installed precompiled mali gpu packages from here: http://forum.lemaker.org/2872-1-1-precompiled_mali_gpu_drivers_for_debian.html (I use the Lubuntu image). Had to compile my own version of fbturbo though.
Just tried the test/test from sunxi-mali and I get to see the colored triangle.
